What Is Retort Sterilization?
Thermal food sterilization is one of the most widespread preservation technologies to destroy the microorganisms and enzymes that can deteriorate foodstuffs. Typically, the sterilization temperatures vary from 230°F/110°C to 275°F/135°C.
As a result, allows the food processor to store and distribute the products at ambient temperatures with extended shelf life.
What Is A Retort?
Sometimes also called an Autoclave or Sterilizer, a Retort is a pressure vessel used in the food manufacturing industry to commercially sterilize food after it has been placed into its container and the container has been hermetically sealed.
The four major types of heat-serializable container are:
1. Metal cans
2. Glass jars or bottles
3. Flexible pouches
4. Rigid trays
Types Of Retort Sterilizer
Our sterilizers, Water immersion retorts, Water spray retorts, Laboratory test retorts, are all of the ideal solution to meet your needs.
The water spray type sterilizer sprays hot water to the surface of the food packages from the nozzles, which are arranged on both sides and the top of the sterilizer inside to complete sterilize the food. Thanks to the rapid heating and cooling, it results a comprehensively, quickly and stably sterilization process.
The Laboratory test retort is for the food manufacturers to develop new products for the experiment, maximum simulation of the actual production process of sterilization, so as to develop the appropriate sterilization process.
The multi retorts in parallel sterilizer is available to be designed with different sterilization modes, Steam heated or matched with one of hot water shower, water spray, and water immersion, which becomes a parallel dual function sterilization system.
The two retorts in parallel hot water immersion sterilizer alternately complete the sterilization process. It shares the sterilization hot water, reduce the heat consumption of sterilization water and shorten the sterilization time.
Water bath sterilization retort is by pre-heating softening water to the set temperature, and then flow into the retort for food sterilization in glass containers, metal cans or flexible pouches.
